Team Jimmy Wheelz realized “Wheel on up” a fundraiser for the November 8th 2014 WalkNRoll for Spina Bifida. An event like no other to raise funds for the Spina Bifida Association of Central Florida. We spread awareness and raised funds for Spina Bifida and celebrated alongside our friends. Not familiar with Spina Bifida? Spina Bifida is the most commonly occurring complex birth defect in this country affecting over 166,000 individuals. It occurs when the spine of the baby fails to close during the first month of pregnancy, leaving a permanent opening in the spinal column. For those who are born with Spina Bifida, some face no challenges while others may live with conditions such as hydrocephalus (fluid on the brain) and varying degrees of paralysis. The total average lifetime health costs for an infant born with Spina Bifida can exceed $1,000,000. If you want to donate and get involved please visit http://www.walknrollsbacfl.org every bit helps... Thanks
Great day out at Fanning Springs Disability Expo 2014. A great adventure among some of the greatest and gifted people, organizations anf groups. Right from the beginning the Jimmy Wheelz organization was fortunate to meet Hector De Valle from NSCIA-CFL which is dedicated to empowering individuals in Central Florida whose lives are impacted by spinal cord injury or disorder and Jerry Diaz, a fellow WCMX Rider and good friend. We were able to talk and make plans for the future of WCMX the sport here in Florida.
This year Jimmy Wheelz LLC, a multimedia startup from St. Petersburg, FL, is helping to support the important work of the Spina Bidifa Association of Central Florida to improve the quality of life for those living with this complex birth defect by participating in the Walk-N-Roll for Spina Bifida. The last few months have been a blast. I’ve been hitting the skate park with my cousin and tricking up and down some serious rampage. Not only learning dropping in some half pipes but learning some serious lessons on safety and safety gear. I’ve gathered some media to share; pictures, videos and created a small animation towards the importance of wearing safety gear with the “Minilights”. […]
March 10th, 2014 was my first day out since my surgery couple weeks ago. The weather was so nice I couldn’t hold myself from staying in any longer. As I strolled my chair through downtown St. Pete, I watched and enjoyed nature and my surroundings. Even though I tried doing some wheeling tricks, I felt my body giving me the signals that it wasn’t time yet and just to take it easy. So I did just that. One day at time is all we have, so enjoy today to the fullest because no one is promised a tomorrow. Mucho Amor my friends! […]
